Early Learner Program
Madison Soccer League 44057
The Early Learner Program is specifically designed to tailor to the needs of our youngest soccer players that are starting their journey with organized team sports. Each spring, the Early Learners will be focusing on a few key necessary skills:
-being part of a group
-listening to basic instruction
-achieving attainable goals
-basic foot skills and dribbling
-respect for themselves, their teammates, and their coach
This program is different from the standard Rec soccer experience. We run the Early Learner Program in a way that introduces the sport in a fun and low-expectation way that will get the kids excited to continue their soccer journey!
Early Learners will receive a soccer ball and a t-shirt for the season. Practices will be held twice a week for the duration of the season- one weeknight (TBD) and one Saturday practice. Weeknights will be dedicated to fun soccer games like swim fishy swim, follow the leader, and tag, that introduce key skills in an age-appropriate way. Saturday practices will start with basic warmups and end with a small-sided scrimmage game to hone skills in a more direct and structured way. At the end of the season, participants will receive a trophy for their participation!
For 2025, the accepted birthyear for the Early Learner program is 2022. If you have a 2021 birthyear child who is interested in soccer but not yet ready for the standard Rec program, please reach out to me to check for availability!
