Recreational Soccer Update

Hey everyone!

I know you're all eager to get more information about this spring season so here are a few small updates:

We can accept more kids in the 2010-09 and 2008-07 age groups. Registration is still open so register asap to get your kiddo in my system! Late registration ends 3/31/21 so make sure you are in my system by then!

We have had a tremendous outpouring of help from the community in the form of coaches and parent volunteers, THANK YOU! If you have signed up as a coach, you should have heard from me via email by now. If you have not- please contact me asap. If you are in my system as a parent volunteer, your contact information will be given to the coach of your team so that they may ask for assistance when the season begins.

Our timeline is still on track, coaches will have their rosters at the end of April with the first practices and games beginning either the last week in April or the first week of May. I am making rosters and schedules now, so if you have any special requests that you forgot to make note of please send me an email or a message asap!

All age groups will be playing in team/game rotation style that looks the same as previous seasons with only slight modification in team size with the exception of the 2008-07 players (the 2008-07 kids will have a camp style setup with scrimmage games every Saturday, we are working out the kinks now and will have more information for these parents via email when it becomes available!)

As for payments- I will be creating a way for you to pay online by card soon, but in the meantime we will also be accepting registration fees via check or cash at our drop box at Sports and Sports in Madison. Please call or check online for their store hours! If you are using our drop box, Use an envelope and include your player's name on the envelope. If paying via check (payable to Madison Soccer League) please make sure to include the player's name on the memo line. Reminder- it is $60 for one child and $50 for each additional child if registering more than one player. (Coaches' kids play for free). Payment is due by the first practice.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me by phone (440-813-5559, text is quickest but call/leave a message if you'd rather) or email

Again, thanks to everyone for your support!

Recreational Soccer, Spring 2021 Update

Hi there everyone! I hope you are all doing well and staying healthy. Spring is just around the corner so I’d like to share a few updates with all of you. We WILL be having a Spring REC Soccer season with some modifications! We ask you to please continue your willingness to cooperate with the Covid guidelines. In our board meeting it was discussed how wonderful all of our parents were with the changes, I can’t express how much I appreciate it!

Registrations are NOT open yet, I am in the process of getting them all set up so please bear with me while I get the technical stuff squared away. In the meantime mark your calendars for our rec season to run from late April thru early June. We will be including children from birthyears 2018-2007.
Plans for this season are entirely dependent on how many registrations I receive, how many volunteers can help, and what ages we have enough registrations in. The plans will be separate per birthyear.
Plan A: Low number of volunteers/registrations
-Camp style meetups for smaller groups, at least 8 sessions but most likely more if I have some volunteers to help. Skills workshop days, scrimmage/game days, age appropriate drills.

Plan B: Moderate number of volunteers/registrations
-More like a regular season but will still be divided by birthyear. Smaller groups than normal, smaller fields to accommodate small team size. Regular 8 game rotation.
The hope is that we are able to use plan B, but if we do not have enough volunteers to coach each team then we will have to go with plan A. Reminder- this is per birthyear so if you have multiple children in different age groups they may have two different play styles.
For those of you who may be interested, here’s some info on what our volunteers do!
Parent Volunteers:
*Assist coaches during practice drills and footskills when needed. Must be able to wear a mask and follow covid-19 guidelines.
Coaches (must be 18 or older):
*Run practices and drills, contacts parents, relay information about schedules. You will receive a free coach shirt and your child plays on your team for FREE! Must be able to wear a mask and follow covid-19 guidelines. Must be able to pass first aid, soccer training, and background check. Must attend one coach meeting prior to season start (3/21/21 or contact for alt. dates).
If you are interested in becoming a coach or volunteer, there will be a portion to fill out on your child’s registration form when they go live. If you have any questions, feel free to ask in the comments or send me a private message if you’d like.
Keep following our Facebook for updates when registrations are ready!

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at or (440) 813-5559.
